Check the water in your batteries once a month. Do not overfill, just cover the top of the cells. Always remember, fill the batteries with distilled water, then charge it, Not charge then fill. The gases can cause combustion. If you have fluid on top of your batteries after a charge, they are too full.
Lithium batteries come in may different variaties. There are the larger single pack units that come as kits, and there are also direct sized individual battery beplacements that mimic a single battery, Either way they dramatically reduce weight, extend your driving time and increase your acceleration. You may see a increase of speed due to the weight reduction but the lithium in theory does not increase speed.
Speed upgrades are available in DC and AC form, AC is more efficient. Both types of power can achieve the speed you want. In any speed upgrade you are fighting resistance, i.e. tire pressures, alignment, axle fluid, brake drag, etc. If your cart does not feel as fast as it used to, check the tire pressure. Try to push the cart with no brake on and see if you have a brake dragging, look at the front of your cart and check for uneven tire wear. We address all these issues before any speed upgrades.
